That said, this axe is an absolute bargain versus the Fender Custom Shop VIs with 2 hums. Make that a STEAL!!! Somebody should grab this ASAP!

|  | Registered User | | | | | Thank you, sir! I've no aversion to swapping the pickup configuration, if that's a deal breaker for any folks out there. The customary jag coil routes are under there, and I have more tortoise material to redo the pickguard.
I've got one jag coil(contemporary genuine Fender), and could wind two more to a customers turn count...I suppose in that case I'd be most apt to do a 5 way strat style switch in replacement of the 3, but could also consider the customary 4 sliders should someone be able to track down a metal plate(I could potentially do a plate from tortoise too if plastic is suffice).
I did a VI build with a student recently and he chose the Novak VI set for pickups...not cheap, but fantastic sounding, versatile, and tailored well to a VI, so I certainly get your point.
At any rate, I'm open to reasonable amendments that come to mind for no, or next to no, added cost, and Novaks(for ex.) would entail a cost addition discussion.
