Fender Custom Shop Limited-edition run of 100 instruments introduced at NAMM 2005. - Select alder body
- 1-piece quartersawn maple neck with '55 soft V shape
- Maple fingerboard (7.25" Radius/184 mm)
- 20 vintage-style frets
- Vintage-style reverse tuning machines
- Gold anodized aluminum pickguard
- 34" (864 mm) scale
- 1.750" (44.5 mm) width at nut
- Relic treatment: shows wear and tear of years of heavy use, nicks, scratches, worn finish rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.
Currently set up with OC Duff handwound ‘58 split-coil pickup. Original ‘59 split-coil pickup included in sale.

What made you go with the OC Duff? Can you describe the differences between the Duff and the stock pickup?

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jan 2005 Location: San Diego, CA | | | OC Duff put together some pickups for my '53 Telecaster project, and I was so happy with the results I had him make up some handwound pickups based on '58 Precision specs. The only difference is that the A pole is not raised.
The Custom shop '59 pickups sound real good, but OC's pickups have a more full pleasing sound. Hard to describe in detail, but there is a difference. I'm including both pickups so the new owner can choose the one he prefers.

Some extra full body shots. Even though Fender calls this a Relic, I would categorize the finish between a Closet Classic and Relic.
