Fender E-Series MIJ P Bass--- PRICE DROP!

Sign in to disble this ad
I had this bass on the evil-bay and my local CL for sale. A local buyer came by looked and played the bass on Friday and said he would take it and be back on Saturday to pick it up. I pulled the ebay auction before anyone placed a bid. he did come to pick up the bass and tried to low-ball me down after we had come to an agreement. I didn't sell the bass to him... so, I thought I would just post it here like should have done from the get-go.
I got this bass in a trade from a TB member here and he had it stripped down to bare wood. I filled the biggest scratches and dents with 'Timber Mate" wood filler and re shot the bass with Reranch Fiesta Red, Replaced the pick-guard with a Fender tort guard, and since the tone pot had an issue I went ahead and replace the Vol. and Tone pots with CTS audio taper 250k pots, and new Switchcraft jack and a new .1uf Fender replacement capacitor.. all from "Bass Parts Resource". Since I didn't take the time to fill and sand out every scratch and dent in the body I went ahead and did a relic job on the body. Yes, I know a lot of folks don't like this type of thing. I was being very lazy I guess.
The bass weighs in at 9.6 lbs and that is the only reason I'm selling it.. The neck is to die for in terms of feel and playability. The tone is hands down pure old school Fender P and besides the relic job it is 100% issue free and comes with a well used Fender tweed HSC. The only issue with the case is the springs in the latches no longer work. The latches close fine but when you slide the button over to open it the latches won't "pop up", you have to lift them with you finger. I'm asking $500.00 shipped in the lower 48 only. This is a great P Bass if you have been looking for a P with great feel and tone to boot. Offers are cool too. All I can say is no. But if it's a low-ball type offer please don't be offended if I don't respond. Thanks!

EDIT: Now only for sale! $500.00 Shipped in the lower 48 United States.

PM's replied. Also, a couple of questions folks have asked..... The PB 562 you see on the neck heel and body neck route was meant to identify this bass as a "62 P Bass re-issue" and the body is "Alder".

I was the previous owner of this bass, and it is a killer player. Mike is also a first class guy to do business with, and I must say, he does excellent finishing work. I have a EBMM Sub he refinished and it is an amazing piece of work.

Buddy, if I had the scratch, this would be coming back. GLWS!

^^ Oh, and thanks Will!
No worries

Bump. PM's replied. A couple more questions were asked.

The serial number reflects this bass was built "1984-1987" and it is a 34" scale bass.

PM's replied. And to answer a couple more questions I got.....

The nut width is 1 3/4". The holes for the pup cover and tug bar were filled when I refinished the bass but the pick guard is a real Fender replacement which has the holes for these are already in it.
