Fender Highway 1 P Bass, SOLD

Sign in to disble this ad
I bought this in October '07 to try out a P Bass and see if I'd like it. In all my years of playing, I'd never had a P Bass, and now I know what I've been missing. I'd like to move up to a high end one, but can't afford to hang onto this one as well. It's got a fresh set of TI Jazz Flats and has been upgraded with a Fender '62 RI tortoise shell pickguard to give it a more vintage look. The original Parchment/black/white pickguard is included and still has the protective film on it.
It features a graphite reinforced neck, factory installed Badass II bridge, satin Nitrocellulose finish on the Alder body and satin Polyurethane finish on the neck, 9.5" radius Rosewood fingerboard, 1.625" nut, '70s headstock logo, "Greasebucket" tone circuit (rolls off highs without adding bass). It comes with a new Fender Deluxe Gig Bag, all the hang tags and the unopened package containing the registration card, owners manual, truss rod wrench and polishing cloth.
It's in excellent condition with the typical finger marks on the pickguard and a few superficial marks on the back. It weighs a comfortable 8lbs. 12oz. and sounds like a good P Bass should.

Payment by USPS Money Order or Paypal, U.S. sale and shipping to continental U.S. only.

After trying one of these recently a couple times in the store, I was impressed. I'd buy one over the high end Fender American basses. The only drawback to me was the rather thin and fragile finish but for that price I could live with it. Nice weight and balance. Great P neck and even with the stock pickup and factory strings a real authentic P sound.

Edit to add--I missed the bit about the Thomastic strings. That's a bonus and made for the Fender P. I have a nearly 7 year old set on my old P that still sound good.

I'd really prefer a cash sale, but will consider trades (+/- cash where appropriate) for an Epi UL210 (either series), a nice fretless 4 string bass that fits my needs or even a nice fretless 4 neck that's interesting.
