I bought this great bass off TB a year ago or so; now I need cash (no trades). It sounds, plays and looks terrific.
I'll sell it for
$575 shipped (within the lower 48), which is a great price for an awesome bass.
I've owned many high end instruments, but this is the best playing bass of them all. The neck is amazingly comfortable and "fast" with its satin finish and flat profile. The neck stays put once it is adjusted, which comes in handy since the weather fluctuates here in the Northeast. The sound is perfect Pbass: full, punchy, and round; especially strung with the TI Flats, as it is now. It's on the light side compared to my heavy '69 Jazz. I don't have a scale, but it's light for a solid body instrument.
It is in very good used condition: light swirling, and superficial fingernail scratches, as one would expect from a bass that has been played. No serious dings or dents.
Some changes have been made to this instrument:
- The previous owner polished the finish with a light wax, so it is shiny (instead of "flat" or dull like they are stock).
- The original pickup stopped working so I replaced it with a new Fender "Original '62" vintage style pick up.
- The previous owner swapped the Badass bridge for a vintage style bridge (comes with the vintage bridge only).
- The replacement tortoise shell pick guard was routed out for access to the truss rod. The routing job is not perfectly symmetrical, but it makes it much easier to adjust the neck.
- Finger rest holes indicate a finger rest was once installed (can be seen in pic between strings and lower horn).
It will ship in a generic skb style case.
I'll miss this one, but I need cash (no trades).
