Fender Jaguar Bass FS

This is a 2007 Fender Jag Bass, in Hot Rod Red, stock, and excellent condition, I bought it in Feb of this year and played it out one time. It was an impulse buy and I don't "need" it. Bass will be packed professionally and does not include any accessories.

See and I thought the same thing but according to this Fender site the serial number falls in the "S + 6 digits=1994-1995"

Please explain the operation of the tone controls.

I assume the active bass and treble controls don't function when the bass is switched to passive mode, but how does the Master Tone control function? Does it operate only in passive mode or in active as well? If it is a traditional passive tone control, does it provide only treble rolloff?

Thanks.

I think japanese basses have a different serial coding system. I'm almost 100% sure jaguar basses were introduced in 2005 or 2006

The Jag was introduced at the 2006 NAMM for US sales. I think they were reintroduced in Japan in 99 but I wouldn't swear to that.

That was the first site I tried, I didn't trust it so I searched for the actual Fender page. Here is what guitarproject.org says:

Guitar Info

Your guitar was made at the
Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1994 - 1995

Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation

Fuji String Instrument Production Corporation was opened in may 1960, they initially started manufacturing violins and quickly switched to classical guitar production. In 1962 electric guitar construction was started. Fujigen has a reputation for excellent quality and craftsmanship so the guitars they produce are highly regarded. They produce guitars via OEM for famous brands such as Ibanez, Epiphone, Yamaha and Fender (the import Special Interest Group nature model), G&L and others.

The serial number actually starts with with S07**** so my initial thoughts it was made in 2007 not in to 94-95

Hrmmmn interesting bump......
