Fender Jazz Bass USA 1976

Sign in to disble this ad
For sale is my Fender Jazz Bass USA 1976, ash body, maple neck, pearl blocks, white binding, Badass bridge,
body finished in transparent blonde - refinished by Marty Bell in 1999 (http://www.martybellfinishing.com/index.html
- one of the best refinishers, he uses thinner lacquers, the sound could be better than with the original thick lacquer),
pickups are Seymour Duncan SJB1 from 90's, electronics is original.
There is a small crack on the neck near the first fret, no impact on the playability, the neck is stable,
the action is low and playing is comfortable.
Weight - 3,8 kg - 8,4 lb

Sound sample: http://www.4shared.com/audio/X3r_Wg0...r_JB_1976.html
Pics: http://s535.photobucket.com/albums/e...der-Jazz-1976/

Price - 1590 USD + shipping (about 50 EUR within EU). The bass is located in Czech.

Thank you

A lot of the mid-late 70's Fenders have this crack. My luthier tells me it's because of two reasons:

1: Fender did not have enough wood between the bullet and the first fret.

2: Because of problem one above in the case where the truss is not adjusted for a while and too much relief is left in the neck, the front of the bullet pushes on the fretboard wood and cracks it. He says that it's purely a cosmetic issue and that in all of the cases that he has seen over the year, none have presented any functionality issues. My '77 (all original) also has a very small crack there too.

CelinderMotoMan - check the pics of the headstock on the photobucket link.

Quadzilla - thanks, that's my experience too. I have this bass for almost two years and the neck is stable, action is low and comfortable. The truss rod is smoothly adjustable up and down, no problem.
