Fender Mellostang III (funky former-mustang beast)

Up for grabs is my Fender "Mellostang III" bass. Started its life as a MIJ Mustang reissue. Excellent playability with absolutely no "dead-spots" on the neck. Truly a gem of a bass. I've done several tone-experiment mods to it with different pickups and electronic layouts and finally landed on a killer versatility and monster tone with the current setup. The neck pickup is a Dimarzio Model One humbucker, middle position is a Vintage Shadow humbucker (made in Germany in the late 70's), and the bridge position is a hot GFS lipstick pickup. They all blend super well with each other, but also mix and match very well for an unbelievable variety of sounds. Controls are stacked knobs -- vol/vol and vol/tone. That's individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone control. There's also a mini-toggle coil tap switch for the Dimarzio Model One neck humbucker, so you can run it as a single or dual coil. The pickup cavities could use a bit of touching up as they were done with a drill, but you only see them when you take the pickups out so it never bothered me. Comes with the orginal Fender Mustang hardshell case ($150 value in and of itself). I have well over a $1000 into this bass but am asking only $475 shipped CONUS because that's about all I need to compensate for the yet outstanding cost of the '51 Precision I just picked up. Paypal is preferred.
This bass was my #1 for a couple of years now and I hate to see her go, but I can't justify or afford keeping them all around. If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind player that will melt ears and turn faces, this just may be the one for you.

Bump for the best modded bass on the forum! I think this one even outdoes that modded Starfire you put up a while back.

This bass has my mind messed up.
Was the original DS rout expanded at all?

So you're finally selling this...
COOL bass.
Is it a 1.5" nut width and slim front to back neck or a 1.65" with the beefier neck?
Any trades you might be interested in?

Thanks for all the love! Looks like she's probably already sold. Still, I'll say that i'm not interested in trades since i'm only parting with this one to fund my other bass. The darkstar cavity had to be very slightly widened to accommodate the shadow if i remember correctly. I don't have any other photos of it to post at the moment, as the bass is safely nestled away at my parents' house about a half hour drive from where i am. I don't remember for sure but i did measure the neck once and believe it was the 1.65" neck.

Just in case... if the nut is 1.65" I'd be most interested.
PM me if available.
