i usually dont get into the hyperbole that exists in selling basses, but this really is the baddest 75 reissue you can get.i just sold my fodera and f bass and didnt do any of that.
heres the scoop on this bass. first off, the edges of the binding have been rounded over for comfort. the frets sit between the binding on these and the binding sits too high and is uncomfortable imo. the work was done by jason workman at national resophonic guitars. he also installed a battery compartment for when i had a bart pre in there. i later took the pre out and ran it through an alleva coppolo outboard pre. its currently passive.
its also sporting a hipshot a bridge (brass and fender mount) and a hipshot d-tuner.
the action is low plays just as good as any boutique. i took this bass along with my actual 78 into jimmy coppolos shop and didnt think any of his lm5's sounded as good as the reissue.
next up is a set of antiquity 2's that were chosen specifically for this bass to bring out the best in it. i think i went through like 15 different sets of pickups. you can read about some of the details here
"J" pickups discussion and comparisons.
heres some clips of the bass with the duncans running through the outboard coppolo pre

the bass comes with the bridge cover the original black pickguard and the original e string tuner.
i gigged this bass twice a week since i got it in 07. i bought it so i wouldnt have to take out the 78 every week. i prefer 5 strings though and i finally found a 5 that sounds close enough to the 78 in an f bass vf5. thats the only reason im selling it
condition wise id give it a solid 8. its got a few dings here and there, the worst are on the neck and pictured. the first fret block inlay had a couple super fine spiderweb cracks on it. i had it inspected by former fender custom shop masterbuilder, gene baker and said i had nothing to worry about. its been repaired though anyway by sealing it with a layer of cyano and then buffed to a mirror finish to match the poly. i couldnt even get anything to show up in the pics.
1300 shipped via usps. insurance extra
1100 is 66% of street so im thinking 13 is pretty fair considering all that went into this thing.
