Thumbs up Fender MIJ Precision E series (1985?) OHSC

Sign in to disble this ad
Sought after MIJ E series P-bass (1984-1987). Serial # E6273XX. Candy apple red car finish maple fret board, skunk stripe. Super lightweight - 8 lbs on the bathroom scale. Thinner neck than modern P's. Good shape except- buckle rash/ gouging on the back see pics. Fat Precision sound! The front looks excellent some dings on the bottom edge will post better pics tomorrow afternoon. OHSC missing one buckle and one foot, but works well. Pro set up with new Nickel round wounds $650shipped conus. Paypal accepted. Will consider trade for irdsong bass or other high quality short scale.

The fender site actually dates this vintage japan made bass as a 1984- 1987, so I am uncertain of the exact year.

I snagged one of these from another TB'er awhile back. Mine is Vintage White, and has an E7XXXXXX S/N. I love mine. You sure you really want to sell it? They're very nice basses!

I reserve the right to change my mind! I just have to come up with $$ for an upright. We'll see!

I have a black & maple E series as well. These are the best! Neck, body and pups are all USA made, sent to Japan when Leo got tired of the stoners in his shop (damhik).

Someone's gonna get a sweet bass - IF - you sell...

That is hilarious - I just read a little bit about that. I think what I read said during 84-87 they were assembling the US made parts in Japan because they were building the shop in california. Who knows. You can feel the quality that is for sure, and the neck feels much less chunky than most P's - feels a little bit more like my old music man neck.

I played this at practice this week and it is an amazing sounding, light, high quality bass, with the best p-bass neck you will find. I am no longer accepting trades - I will either sell it or keep it.

Thanks for the trade offer NFA, but I think I'm going to sell or keep at this point. Nice bass though

Better quality pics with buckle rash shots

As requested here are better photos detailing the buckle rash on the back and a little wear on the edge of the fret board between frets 2-3.

This should work

That is one pretty bass. The back of the bass certainly doesn't look bad at all. Gotta think seriously about this one. Thanks.
