Fender MIM J w/all the right mods $650

Sign in to disble this ad
....ever thought about modding an already killer MIM J but haven't gotten around to it yet?.....well I've done it all for you!

MIM J bass with rosewood fingerboard
Black on black
Seymour Duncan Antiquity II single coils
Rothstein Guitars prewired J-Bass Assembly (new pots, caps, wiring with a push/pull volume for parallel or series wiring)
Hipshot B bridge
Hipshot tuners
Hipshot D tuner on the E string
Dunlop straplocks
bone nut
complete setup/fret dressing
new black pickguard

There are some nicks in the paint by the arm rest and on the edge. The neck is straight, the bass plays and sounds amazing and it resonates like crazy. There is NO WAY I'd sell this if I didn't have to. I love this bass to death, but I really need money right now as I'm not teaching or working much because I'm a full time student again. Until next semester starts funds are very, very low. This is a really special bass. I've recorded a couple of albums with this bass and played countless gigs around town. It always gets the job done admirably. The bass will come with a cheap Fender gig bag.

Ok....I'm giving this one more shot at a rediculously low price before I start parting this thing out....$650 shipped. US sales only please. No trades.

There's a link to a sound clip of the bass below. I recorded the clip in Garageband.

New pics are below.

...and don't be afraid to throw an offer my way. You may end up with a killer J bass at a great price.

Thanks J! I wish I didn't have to give it up. The only thing that I would change on it would be smaller frets....but that's just a personal preference. The bass is a killer though!

New sound clip added at the link above where you can hear the bass with a pick/pickup on full, slap bass/pickups on full and melodic parts/favoring the bridge pickup.

I was thinking the same thing as I just got a new camera. Thanks, I think you're right.

edit...truth be told I in no way want to sell this....I just can't see another way right now. Shame really. I'm sure a lot of folks are in the same position these days.

Keep in mind that these marks don't look nearly this bad on the bass and they certainly don't effect playability....just wanted to be sure to show the marks.

Truly Joe, that means a lot, especially from you. Thank you.

I do think I'm going to take your advice. If this doesn't drum up some interest in a week than I'm going to start parting this out. It's a bit more of a pain but I think I'll make some money more quickly.

Also, Joe, check out my friend and old roomate's album. His name is Kendall Eddy. http://kendalleddy.com/live/ ....get his new album. I was really influenced by his playing and his compositions during the year that we lived together. He's quite the musician. I think you'd love his compositions.

wow when you said all the right mods, you weren't kidding.

You have done everything I would've done to my bass if I had time and money.

The bass sounds great!
