Hey there

Selling my Fender Mustang CIJ (Crafted in Japan) reissue that I bought used a few years ago. Some dings and scratches (the most obvious of which are in the photos). But in my opinion it just adds to the mojo. Plays great and the action is VG.

Details include a solid alder body, split single-coil pickup and a maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, dot inlays and nickel/silver frets. Instrument is stock, without modifications. It's a player—not a collector's item.

What year is this and how would you rate the condition of the frets on a scale of 1–10, 10 being best?

Hi, I punched in the serial number here: http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

It says: "Your guitar was made at the Fuji-gen Plant (for Fender Japan), Japan
in the Year(s): 1994–1995."

I'd rate the frets an 8 out of 10; light wear on frets 1 and 2. Plenty of life left in the frets.

Sorry for the confusion. I just spoke to the Fender Consumer Relations rep and they clarified the bass was crafted in Japan in March 2008.

This is now on eBay but will offer a special price to Talk Bassists: $500 (+ shipping TBD based on your location). I'm on LI, NY. Local pickup possible if mutually convenient.
