Fender Road Worn Jazz Bass w/ upgrades & mods 2 Attachment(s) I purchased this new 2 years ago . it has seen some touring - and is still in excellent condition - was either hand carried by myself in a rugged gig-bag or was in a flight case . *i replaced the stock pickups w/ Aguilar Vintage series jazz bass pickups w/ Alnico magnets . *had the glossy finish taken off back of neck (professionally) so it feels like a nice aged instrument - smooth to the touch instead of tacky. * the function of the 2 volume knobs has been changed to a more practical - master volume , pickup pan selector . tone control functions the same - and the look remains the same . * the coolest mod for a jazz bass - "series/parallel" pickup wiring option i had a push/pull pot installed on tone control - with pan knob notched in the center ( both pickups full out) , you pull up on tone knob and the pickups go into "series" mode - which makes for a much fatter& louder tone - closer to a p-bass click the tone knob back down for "parallel" (normal) jazz bass mode . it's a totally non-destructive mod that can be removed if so desired . but it's a great option to have . ( i even had it done to my '64 jazz bass ! ) i will include the original basic fender gig bag & papers that it came with . currently strung up with a new set of LaBella heavy-ish flat-wounds (.109,.089,.069,.049) . but i will throw in a set of round wounds in the box if so desired . these go for around $1,100 new. (not including tax & shipping ) selling here for $800 including shipping . ( probably UPS ground) (would prefer an NYC area in person pickup for less $$ ) paypal : baytoven@mac.com ph. 917.678.7103 |
