Many of you may have seen this beautiful bass listed here on the TB classifieds recently. After some good fortune I managed to snag it because I have always wanted to try one and I had never seen one in this kind of condition.
So I've played it a bit and while it's everything it's represented to be, it's just not going to replace my Fender Custom Classic 5 String Jazz Bass. So I'm going to offer it back up to all of you discriminating Fender fans! This is without a doubt the best passive 5 string I have ever encountered, bar none. I guess when it comes right down to it, I like having an active preamp.
I'm not positive of the year but I think it was built in 1997 and it's pretty much a museum piece. There are absolutely no signs of wear that I can see. No chips, scratches, dings or anything! It looks brand new!
It's a 34" scale
instrument with a 1 3/4" nut
. The string spacing at the bridge is 19mm
and it weighs 10 pounds 2.6
ounces on my digital scale. The color is Shoreline Gold
and the finish is high gloss poly on the body and neck.
I am only asking what I paid for it and if you follow these on Ebay you know that they always sell for more than this and they are never in this kind of shape. So if you've ever wanted to own one of these in immaculate condition, this is your chance. $1,500.00 shipped and insured in the CONUS
It will ship in it's original HSC along with all the case candy shown, what a deal!
Thanks to TB'er baba for the excellent photos!
