Fender Steve Bailey fretless six / BC Rich Widow five

Sign in to disble this ad
2 Basses. As far as I know, I'm the only one currently selling either of these on the internet... In the unlikely event that the same person would like to buy both basses, I could lower the total price by about 200 USD.

I'm in Montreal for those who could meet me in person half-way. I'm willing to drive a bit south of the border if you're in north-east USA. Obviously I'm also willing to drive a few hours into Ontario or eastern Quebec.

1) Fender Steve Bailey Fretless

6 strings, ebony fretless fingerboard (compound radius), unlined, 34" scale, 19mm +-0.5mm string spacing, graphite reinforced neck, 18V electronics, with Fender hardcase

This bass is excellent, but not The One for me.

I'd like to trade for a different high end fretless, 5 or 6 (or more!) strings. My main requirement is hyper-low action with no buzz.

I'd also consider selling for around 2000 USD

2) BC Rich Widow

5 strings, neck-through, 35", ebony fretboard, 24 jumbo frets,
2 P pickups, active trebble and bass

Looking for around 550 USD.

Out of curiosity, what are the controls on the Fender?

Vol, vol, stacked bass / treble boost / cut?

It's volume, pickup balance, stacked bass/treble, mute switch. The mute switch is actually useful. Keeps me from having to turn the amp off/on when unplugging the cord, and it's also pretty handy when doing a set-up.

BBB (Bump for the Bailey Bass).

I am dying to slam on that sucker.

Would you please rate the thickness of the fingerboard. Did Fender actually put a thick and juicy slab of ebony on this axe?

K

There's about 6mm thick of ebony in the middle of the fingerboard, tapering down to 4mm at the edge near the nut, and 3mm at the edge at the 24th fret.

A few more trades I'd be interested in for the Fender:

Yamaha TRB6JP2
Modulus Q6

Maybe a touchstyle instrument (chapman stick, warr, mobius, etc.)

Or maybe even an electric upright bass.

I'd also be interested in trading the Widow for a mid-end 6 string. Let me know what you've got.

I'm bumping the Bailey because it's awesome. But if I tried to trade my Warr for it, I'd have to sell my Mouse -- kinda complicated, and I'm not sure I'd want to do that anyway. When you sell it, you can buy my Warr.

Is the SRB obsolete? I don't see it on the Fender website.

Alright guys, I haven't been around lately, but I'm back. The basses are still available.

The Widow is made in Korea, yes.

Hello Alexbib,
I have a 6 string fretless warwick thumb bolt-on 1998 model. Wenge body/neck with a "tiger stripe ebony" fingerboard. I'm potentially interested in trading for the Bailey 6 string. Any interest???
