I hate to part with this beauty, but it's not getting the playing time it deserves, and I need to thin the herd a bit. Okay, a lot, maybe...
These are somewhat rare, but those who know these basses should certainly appreciate them. This is a CIJ (Crafted in Japan) Fender TNB110-SPL Precision Thinline Hollowbody in near mint condition. I have gigged with it a couple of times, but I don't know of any scratches/dings/blems. It plays like butter, and has a very warm/fat but articulate tone. Here are some pics (the MIJ Fender Precision A/E is not for sale):
To be clear, this is the bass with the Tele headstock, the humbucker at the end of the fingerboard and the J-style pickup at the bridge. It ships with the original Fender molded plastic case.
I am not interested in trades at this time, and I would like $950, shipped, in the lower 48. |

edit: If there's any way this ends up still around after a few weeks.........I mean, I wish you luck with the sale, but seriously. Lust.

And now I'm maxxed out! Thanks, commercial holiday season and GAS!
Oh well, free bump, someone needs to snatch this up, they are rare and beautiful.

The only reason that I am so concerned with the weight is that I have had two surgeries on my left shoulder, and my days of playing heavyweight basses are in the past. Before the injuries, 11 or even 12 lb. basses were not an issue as long as they sounded right ... heck, my main gigging basses for years were a '71 P-Bass that tipped the scales at 11 lbs+ and an (original) Ampeg Dan Armstrong fretless that weighed a LOT -- I don't know how much, but it was a neck, shoulder and back-breaker!
Thanks, ... Doug |

Thanks, ... Doug | Sorry for not getting that thing weighed yet. On top of everything else, I've been dealing with the fact that I need a new well drilled (and a new pressure tank, and a new well pump), and we are currently getting water from our neighbor's house through a garden hose. So, that kinda took priority (and is still on-going; because of the weather, they may not be able to drill the new well for several days, yet).
I will say that this is most definitely a "light bass." Under 9 lbs, for sure. I'll try and get a more accurate measure for you soon. |

We went through several severe weather-related issues with our home this year (and last, and the year before that - in fact, that is how I tore the rotator cuff and labrum in my left shoulder initially ... working to clear storm damage on my roof).
That bass is so darned tempting; it's just that I have "isues" playing basses in the 9 lb. range, and once they get up over that weight, I am doomed if I am playing any long two and three-set gigs, or lengthy rehearsals. |
