Then when I started unscrewing the nut, before it was off, the rod was about and inch past the heel of the neck??? I don't know if that's normal or if the truss rod broke somewhere in the middle??? I tapped it back down. Who knows, I was told that the 62 reissues has had problems with their necks being stable and I was told that the bad years were early 1990's-1999. Mine is a 2003 model. I will call Fender on Monday and see if I can get a replacement. I figure the balance between sell as is and sell after buying a real fender replacement neck will still put me in the same place financially at the end of the day.

I had the rod break on my '62 P reissue right below the threads.
My luthier cut a square out of the rosewood before the first fret,
cut out the broken truss rod,
installed a new one, &
placed a new piece of rosewood into the hole.
After a few weeks of playing, the repair was invisible.

| | You have a Warwick? Show me wax on wax off!! | | Join Date: Oct 2006 Location: TAMPA FLORIDA USA | | | theres plenty of 62 necks on eBay but they are pricey at about 400 bucks average
however necks come up often here in TB in the classifieds so you can still pretty much put together a real kickass bass
that goes for the buyer and the seller
This would be a great opportunity to put on a maple neck with blocks
or a 70s neck with pearl blocks..skys the limit plus you get US electronics
