Fender USA AVRI 62 Precision Bass

I'm cleaning house. Letting go of a few nice basses that just don't get much play time these days. This one is a USA Fender 62 RI Precision. Black w/ tort guard and rosewood board.
1.75" at nut. Weighs 9 pounds. I haven't popped the neck, but I think this bass is probably from the late 90s to early 2000s by the looks of the tortoise guard.
The bass shows a little wear. There are some marks on the neck from where the bass sat in a hanging stand.

I don't have the original case or covers. The bass will ship in the hard case shown in the pics.

$950 shipped.

Ugh, I've been GAS'ing for a P Bass, but alas, it just so happens that I'm a broke highschool student.

Oh well. Bump!

Awesome! And a fair price. I do not need another P, but if I did, it's hard to imagine something better than this deal.

You should trade me the loaded body for my unloaded '65 body.

(In all honesty, it would probably be a shame to part out this bass anyway - too cool. Good luck with the sale.)

Has it been refinished? I didn't know that they were available in black in 62.

I think black was a custom color in 1962. It is one of the colors offered in the av line.

Free bump if you don't mind a little story. I bought one of these (3TSB) in '95. The salesman owned the same re-issue in black. We had both of them in the store one day, sitting side-by-side on the "stage" area of the store. They were both in their tweed cases with the tops opened. People were "oohing and aahing" over them. The salesman often said that he wished he had gotten the 3TSB, while I sometimes wished I had gotten the Black. Great basses though, and they look good in any color!

Thank God. This one was tormenting me. That black / tort / rosewood combo really pops. What a beauty.
