OK let me explain the original post I made was purely to try and locate the buyer who had been interested in the previous sale.
This seemed like the best forum to post that in to try and locate that guy.
Hence I didn't publish a price as the main point of the thread was to try and contact the original prospective buyer. I wasn't in any way trying to circumvent the posting rules or start some private bidding war
Anyone interested in the price has PMed me and I have responded. Anyway to keep everyone happy my asking price is $10500 plus shipping.
Now I hope that will line up with your expectations and be within the rules.
Apologies to everyone if my intention wasn't clear or, if indeed, this should have been posted elsewhere.
Cheers
Nick

Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans. (o.o)
The key for me (mine is an older doublecut AJC, IIRC a 1992 36" scale) is the positioning of the bass. If I keep the headstock too low or the body too horizontal it could induce pain, especially in the lower positions.
I've heard this model of bass, at various times, referred to as a 'Huge P Bass with Six Strings'. From those who have played a presentation, is this accurate? I've had dreams of this exact bass many a time. I love the dark yet clear tone AJ gets from his.
After much to-ing and fro-ing I have decided to hang on to this bass for the time being.
The post from AJ himself really encouraged me to explore adjustments in playing this beast. So I will spend some time attempting to do this. My wife also popped in a little reality check for me with a statement along the lines of "once you let this one go the chances of getting another are pretty slim". This is probably true, so it made me want to be doubly sure before I said goodbye to it.
I'm sure most of you will understand the above.
All those with serious interest in this bass, I know who you are !!
If things change around here I will contact you all at that point.
I wanted to thank everyone firstly for their interest and secondly those who sent kind and supportive messages.
It sounds like you are going for a happy ending. I had great problems with my hands when I studied music at college. After watching the Gary Willis instructional tape I changed my playing style. I've had no problems since.
