Franken-Fender Dark Star P bass -- Jazz neck, 7.5 lbs. -- SOLD!!

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!!

I've nearly sold this before, but it's survived every herd thinning up until now. Now that I have my Will Lee, it's just not getting any playing time at all, and I have massive, uncontainable GAS for a Mesa M9 Carbine.

Information about this bass and more pics can be found in this for sale ad I posted a few months ago, when I nearly sold it but decided to keep it instead. I really want to keep this but I want the M9 more.

The only trade I'm interested in is a Mesa M9 Carbine, so other than that, this is FS only, $750 shipped, paypal is fine. SOLD!!!

I really don't know where the neck and body came from. I haven't taken off the neck to look for markings.

Bump for a good guy and a sweet bass. It's actually giving me a little G.A.S. even though I'm not playing 4-string anymore..

The neck is MIA from a 62 RI. The wear is player wear to the best of my knowledge. Quite a lot of it from yours truly. The neck had been on and off more than a few times so I had local luthier Craig Wilson drill it out and install threaded inserts, nuts and blue loctite (IIRC on the loctite). So it's a super stiff mechanical connection. I don't recall the exact year on the neck or body. Early 80's is my recollection.

The body is from a 57 RI. The routing had been done prior to me landing it. I did a little clean up on it but for the most part, left it alone. The rout was a little too wide down by the controls so I had Craig did a custom pickguard for it. He did a great job. He also did the Darkstar mount and final setup.

I'm suprised Mark hasn't bought this already. He near to salivates every time it goes to a GTG ... as is appropriate - this is a wonderful player. Super light but still toneful. I trust it will end up in a good home (not that it hasnt been in one mind you...)

Alas, timing is everything and this isn't the time. I've got GAS in other directions so this one will have to slip away for now...
