Here's a very unique Jazz bass that I recently finished putting together for myself. 1966 lake placid blue jazz body (refinished a long time ago) with tons of play wear\natural relic. This body has been played and dragged around quite a bit, looks really cool. 2001 AVRI PRECISION neck, the wide and flat p neck everyone loves, has some nice subtle flame on the back. All hardware from a road worn P, basically same quality as fender CS. Custom shop control plate, knobs, and original wiring from a jazz relic. Fralin pickups. Fender 62 reissue pickguard with a few coats of tinted nitro. I spent a lot of time scrounging for these parts to put together something really special.
This bass is very loud acoustically, sounds great. You can get a really good p tone with the neck pickup, has a little extra oomph I attribute to the neck. Super tight pocket, low setup, 8.8 lbs. Strung with a new set of sunbeam lights.
$1400

| | | I guess there isn't a way to be 100% on the body, other than trusting the source I got it from I saw some of the other parts that were dated 66.
It has the fullerplast base coat, and is definitely pretty old judging by the way the wear looks. The fullerplast is worn away in some spots. It is a refin, but I would date the new finish at least 20 years ago, if not older. This thing has been around! I'm no expert though, I'll try to get some more detailed photos of the finish for you guys. The neck is a 2001 reissue p bass neck from a trusted source. I can double check the heel to be sure on the date. Nitro finished american vintage. |

The body is the money on this item once you break $1,400 down. ..... You haven't even removed the reissue pickguard and posted a pic? ..... Just saying. .... I'm interested but not sold. |
