PRICE DROP!! Hating to do this, but up for sale is my prized
Reverend Rumblefish R5L w/ OHSC...& not just any 'Fish...the
#4 5'r in production!! $775 Shipped CONUS - Make an offer I can't refuse
Can't believe it has come to this, but with a recent high-end bicycle theft, some residual debt, & the holidays around the corner, it's time to liquidate some music gear.
Really wouldn't need to list much here as this bass speaks for itself...however, the laundry list will follow shortly.
NOTE:
One Tone Pot is not original...one Knob is also after-market. Rev OHSC is tattered on the outside, but well protects the axe on the inside
back of neck does have some tiny "dents" as does top of Headstock. Body has some minor belt buckle rash. Case fur more dark burgundy/maroon than the pix fuchsia look.
All this very hard to capture on film, so if you are looking for a museum piece or a new/old stock, this is not the bass for you.

Specifications:
Black and white body with silver/grey pick guard
A rare fish indeed – only 289 of the Rumblefish R5L's ever produced, when you consider the color combination we are talking in the 60's-70’s! And this is numero quattro...the fourth R5L!!!!
This is a used instrument that was played in a few different bands so it is not brand new. I've owned it for over a decade & have taken great care for it. It is in very good to good condition. No major nicks or dings. The white part of the body is slightly yellowing - but is barely noticeable. Neck is straight and it is in 100% working order.
Comes with a Reverend soft shell case. Has "REVEREND" printed on the neck section of the case. Nice slim case - it even protects! Think I also have a Reverend Gig bag I'll throw in as well...assuming I can find it.
5-string with 35 inch scale, two Reverend J-style pickups, 3-position voicing switch (parallel, single coil, series), volume and tone controls. Simple yet versatile, with ultra-deep piano-like clarity and resonance. The comfortable neck profile and tight B string make for a modern classic
Available from Jan 1999 The tone has been described as "very tight, and punches through with clarity and warmth, much like a true vintage Fender J-bass". The tone control allows you to dial out the bridge pick-up to emulate the ballsy tone of a P-bass or dial in the bridge, cut the neck a bit to give the bass a very Jaco-esque honk.
Another reviewer at Bass Gear Review sums it up by saying, "In all, a ballsy, multi-faceted tone monster. Very light weight with a fast, playable vintage-feel neck."
The great thing about all of the Reverend Basses is that the construction materials and methods lead to a very light and playable bass.
(These notes refer to the XL model, which was the 4 string version with the same electronic configuration. Thanks to Greg at the Reverend Fan page for pointing this out.)
The Rumblefish XL is similar to the regular Rumblefish, except that the "XL" version has a volume pot, a tone pot and a 3-way mini-toggle switch that allows the 2 passive Jazz Bass style pickups to run in parallel/single-coil/series. It is capable of a variety of different sounds thanks to the parallel/single coil/series mini-toggle switch. It sounds rich and warm in all settings.
Reviewers describe the XL as, "like a Jazz Bass with a little more tonal flexibility and a much lighter body. The neck is as good as any out there and better than 90% of them; it feels like a "broken in" 60's Jazz Bass neck."
Records amazing too!!
