Seems like not everyone knows what these basses are about so I’ll give some background. These were only made from 2003-2006. Sterling Ball wanted to show everyone that it was possible to build a less-expensive bass in the USA, but they were losing money on each one that was sold so the line was discontinued.
These are built to the same high quality standards as other EBMM products – pretty much indestructible. To save money on manufacturing they have slab bodies, a flat finish with flat black painted neck, the hardware does not have “Music Man” stamped in it and the serial number is on a sticker instead of being stamped into the neck plate. They use the basic 2-band preamp without any coil switching. Rosewood was the only fretboard option.
This particular bass is 8.5/10 condition, nicely broken in but not abused. A little bit of the headstock paint is worn off from the gig bag zipper and from a stand or wall hanger – see pics. There are very small dings that don’t show in photos: one the bottom edge, one on the back of the neck between the 9th & 10th frets, and a small scratch behind the bridge at the B string. None of those dings have gone through the paint. Otherwise it is clean and pristine with very little fret wear and just a touch of fingerboard funk. The rosewood has nice grain.
I like this bass a lot, sounds and plays great, lots of character and a unique look, but I can’t keep ‘em all! The tone is clear and aggressive like a Music Man should be. It has a great B string with excellent intonation right up the neck. The neck is medium profile, feels a bit thinner than the Stingray 5 neck that I own. I have the action set low. Comes with a generic gig bag. For shipping I will add foam to the inside of the bag and put it in a box with more foam. I will ship Canada Post/USPS.
These are getting harder to find in good shape, and some people think the SUB line might become more valuable in the future. A 4-string SUB went for $682 on E-bay recently. If you haven't tried a Music Man before this is how you can get one that's affordable.

$575 US plus shipping. Paypal friendly.
Would rather not do a trade but I might be tempted by a Sterling 5 or a vintage G&L. Naturally I would add cash to the deal in either case.
Thanks for looking.
Edit - I've had a request for a clip so I made one:
