’08 Ernie Ball/Music Man Sterling 4 HS W/ original hardshell case
Natural finish Ash body, Rosewood fingerboard, Tortoiseshell pickguard
$825, plus shipping
This bass is in exceptional condition! I won’t claim it’s “mint” because it has been played, but you’d be hard pressed to tell it from a brand new bass. The only marks on it are the inevitable finger swirls on the pickguard from being handled and played. According to Ernie Ball customer service the bass was completed in November, 2008 and it’s obviously had careful care since then. It’s also unusually light at 8lbs 10oz. It comes in the original hardshell case that has a few light scuffs, but is otherwise in the same excellent condition. It also includes a set of Schaller strap locks and a new set of EB/MM Super Slinky nickel wound strings (.45-.100)
The HS pickups and switching, combined with the 3 band EQ, give it a huge range of available sounds. Far more flexible than the standard humbucking pick up alone. The light weight, smaller body and slim neck make it a super comfortable bass and the great action and sound make it a pleasure to play. If I wasn’t retiring from active playing I wouldn’t part with this bass, but I’m trimming down to the bare essentials and this is the last to go.
