FS: '09 Carvin SB5000 w/ sick Birdseye neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Build codes:
11-9-09 SB5000 W ASH BMNH BMF ABD RP HC8W

11-9-09 = Sept. 11. 2009 build date
W = Natural White
Ash = Body Wood
BMNH = Birdseye Maple Natural Clear Headstock
BMF = Birdseye Maple Fingerboard
ABD = Abalone Dot Inlays
RP = Red Tortoise Pickguard
HC8W = Black Tolex Wide Hardshell Case

And has the Single coils in it.
Carvin Hard Case
Currently strung with SIT Power Steels
Weighs 9.4 or 9.5 lbs

The neck on this has sick rich dark birdseye in it. Very impressed with Carvin's wood.

When I got it used the pickguard showed decent play wear marks so I satinized the pickguard with 0000 steel wool. If the buyer doesn't like it, Carvin sells white, black, white pearloid, and tort pickguard cheap.

Body, and neck are in great condition. Rear butt of the bass has a couple bump marks on it, and another bump mark on the rear of the bottom horn. That's pretty much all I can find on it. It's been played and gigged, but it stands up to my standard of very good condition, but it's not 'new'.

I don't 'have' to sell it. Only reason I am is because my personal tonal preferences keep snapping me back toward Musicman basses.
$875 shipped via paypal or $850 shipped via USPS money order.

Getting PM's about trades...
The ONLY trades I'd be interested in would be an HSS 25th Anniversary Musicman 5-string, or HSS Musicman Reflex 5 + money from me obviously.

Would you be at all interested in trading for a 4-string Carvin Icon series?

Sorry, I'm solely a 5-string player. Main trades I'd be interested in are the ones listed, or something very similar in nature to those Musicman basses.

18v 2-band with passive tone control like a Sadowsky VTC system, so you have passive tone roll-off in both passive mode and active mode.. Actually, you could consider the whole preamp fairly Sadowsky like IMHO.

You can make the comparison much deeper...

Personally, first time I played the bass, when I dialed up the bass knob about 10-15% and pulled the treble back a touch my first reaction was... " sounds a ton like the Sadowsky preamp I had"

Thanks marcel. No worries. If I can't break away or have my friend get it coming thru there, we'll do the shipping thing.
