Up for sale is my 1961 Fender Precision Bass. A little history: this bass was once owned by professional bassist Richard Stanmyre who toured the world with Roger Hodgson of the band Supertramp. This bass has been in used in front of 100,000's of people in several countries. A true classic instrument with an honest rock & roll past.
It was refinished a long time ago in Olympic White nitro which has yellowed gorgeously over time. Based on the red overspray in the neck pocket, I suspect that this bass was originally sunburst. The neck was also refinished. It is a nicely figured slab Brazilian Rosewood fretboard which, I'm sure, contributes to the huge tone it puts out. It was set up by a Sadowsky employee and looks, plays, and sounds absolutely incredible. It currently wears a perfectly broken set of D'Addario Chromes. It comes with, what I suspect to be, a very tattered Fullerton era tweed hardshell case. Zero surprises and zero disappointments with this bass. It's honestly phenomenal. I've used it live several times and soundmen can't stop drooling over my tone. It will ship via UPS Ground and will be packed to be bomb-proof as well as insured for its full selling value. I have a ton of experience shipping valuable instruments. If you've dreamt of getting into a vintage slab board P Bass but can't pay the crazy prices for an all original specimen, this is your bass.
