1963: I bought this bass not too long ago from The Low End.
The bass was worked on and refinished by Joe Black, who worked on the book The Fender Bass An Illustrated History.
I have since put new foam under the pups.
The bass had a non-original pot, but I put an original '63 back in.
Serial number dates the bass to '64.
Neck dates the bass to '63 (5 DEC 63)
One pot dates '63, one '64.
Bass has all original parts.
Original case in okay shape for its age.
Beautiful player, just too nice for me to gig with

1975: I also bought this bass not too long ago.
I was going to refinish it like Jimi's Monterey Pop Strat,
but decided that wasn't right haha.
I'm going to pass this one onto someone who can make it their own project.
All original except new pots, pickguard and replacement covers.
Missing the last fret.
May have been re-fretted.
Includes non-original hardshell case.
This bass is sweet!
