FS: 1973 Fender Jazz Bass/'76 Precision neck

OK, I have decided to part with this bass. Details:

I bought this bass on Ebay in a highly unoriginal state. My goal was to bring it back to original (as much as I could). Unfortunately the neck was shot, so I put the P neck on it. It was refinished in Lake Placid Blue in the '80s. The bass weighs probably 9 pounds, don't have a scale. It was measured at 8.5 pounds with the original neck, but the current neck is a little heavier.

Body and pickups- 1973 Jazz Bass
Neck- 1976 Precision Bass with rare A width nut (1.5 inches), brass nut.
Badass II bridge
Pots and control assembly- 1974 Jazz Bass

It is a cool bass with tons of mojo. It is in serious need of a fret job, being practically fretless from the 2nd to about the 6th fret. The tone is almost identical to the bass that Jaco plays in his instructional video (Modern Electric Bass), that bass also being a Jazz with a precision neck. Very snappy.

I bought the control plate assembly from an ebay seller and the pots read 1377438. He said that he built it up from some incomplete state, how incomplete I don't know. It appears to me that the tone knob is a bit newer than the other two. Everything else looks good, blue drop cap, etc.

The original case is missing the chrome Fender badge. Overall I would say that the case is in a 5 or 6 out of 10 condition.

Please ask questions. I will add more pictures and details. Asking $1,100.

If I can't drum up the interest here, then I will part it out and sell on ebay. If you are interested in any parts, let me know.

I am accepting cash offers. I am really interested in the MIM 70s Jazz, but shying away from trades in general.

I'm curious as to how "shot" the original neck was? would it be included?

No, it would not be included. It arrived with a warped headstock, causing the A string to pop out of the nut. A hump in the fretboard, and a weak truss rod, truly a project piece. The neck was, however, advertised as "near mint". I currently have it on another bass, and after some minor adjustments by my luthier, it is working pretty well (depending on the weather). It still needs lots of work to be perfect, a refret and fretboard leveling. It does happen to sound awesome on the bass that it is now on. If that were not the case, I would sell it as a project neck.

This is what the listed bass looked like when I got it.

I've got no plans to part it out, but if the right 74 or earlier maple Jazz neck comes along, I'll let you know...
