Hey guys, Up for sale is a 1973 Fender Jazz, walnut finish over ash/rosewood board with blocks and binding. This one is all original to my knowledge with the exception of the bridge volume pot and knob. Everything else points to 1973, pot codes, pickup dates, 4 bolt neck plate, serial number, body end truss rod adjustment, and long g bridge screw. The neck heel stamp is worn away but you can kinda make out the 02 which was the code for Jazz bass.
Plenty of wear but definitely adds to the vibe. Truss rod works, the neck is straight, action is set pretty low with minimal buzz in the higher frets. There is some fret wear but they still have some life in them and it doesn't hinder playability in my case. I'm not convinced that the tone control works 100%. I don't hear too much difference whether its full on or full off. Probably needs a new cap. The plastic tone control knob is cracked, and one of the strap buttons is cracked too. Tight neck pocket, no slop.
Has original maroon/brown thumbrest and screws but no pickup covers.
It is a fine 70's Jazz bass whose value will only go up. This one's right around the 9-9.5lbs mark on my bathroom scale.
