FS: 1973 Fender Jazz Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD

Hey guys, Up for sale is a 1973 Fender Jazz, walnut finish over ash/rosewood board with blocks and binding. This one is all original to my knowledge with the exception of the bridge volume pot and knob. Everything else points to 1973, pot codes, pickup dates, 4 bolt neck plate, serial number, body end truss rod adjustment, and long g bridge screw. The neck heel stamp is worn away but you can kinda make out the 02 which was the code for Jazz bass.

Plenty of wear but definitely adds to the vibe. Truss rod works, the neck is straight, action is set pretty low with minimal buzz in the higher frets. There is some fret wear but they still have some life in them and it doesn't hinder playability in my case. I'm not convinced that the tone control works 100%. I don't hear too much difference whether its full on or full off. Probably needs a new cap. The plastic tone control knob is cracked, and one of the strap buttons is cracked too. Tight neck pocket, no slop.

Has original maroon/brown thumbrest and screws but no pickup covers.

It is a fine 70's Jazz bass whose value will only go up. This one's right around the 9-9.5lbs mark on my bathroom scale.

Asking $2200 (with non original hardshell was $2300) or $2150 (with gig bag was $2250) Shipped to the continental US via Paypal or Money Order.

Thanks for the kind words guys! It's a killer bass and will make someone very happy.

I'm only selling because I just bought my dream Jazz bass (66 fender) from jk0580, and I don't need to have 2 jazz basses hanging around.

Got to play this bass - feels and sounds real nice, everything besides the changed pot looks legit, the price is certainly right, and the seller is very nice to deal with. I may end up with a new one for financial reasons, but anyone looking for a 70s ash bodied Jazz should be happy with this one!

Thanks man, you sounded great playing it!

I've had a few trade offers but I'm mainly looking to sell. I'll entertain some cash offers if anyone wants to make one. Just PM me.

Sorry, I just revised my original post to reflect the price reduction. I took $100 off my original asking price.
