Look at this one again. Major Price Reduction. Vintage 35 year old 1974 Fender Jazz: black with rosewood fretboard / pearloid blocks, binding and four bolt neck. It looks like a black on black refin with several touched up dings. There is an original half inch piece of binding that appears to have been repaired on the bottom side of the neck. There is some minor fretwear but nothing serious. Everything is original except pickups (Dimarzio) and pickguard. The serial number is 5XXXXXX which dates it to 1974. The pots are all original which date to 1974. It even has the bridge cover but no neck pickup cover. She is not too heavy coming in at 9lbs on the bathroom scale. Includes a new C&G Fender brand name black hardshell case with the Fender logo underneath the handle. The bottom line on this old girl is that she is one real "sweetheart" player. She plays and sounds great. Feels like a good old worn in pair of jeans. Asking $1800.00 shipped in CONUS. I need to sell this one before I decide to keep her. Paypal preferred. No international sales. Additional pics are available.

The dings and "road scars" appear to have been hand painted over with a small brush. The neck is untouched. If I were to keep her, I would probably have it professioanlly stripped to the bare wood and redone in black nitro-lacquer. Included are more pictures:

He also added that it may have been just oversprayed with a clear coat. I have removed the pickguard, neck and pickups. There is no apparent evidence that it was any other finish. |
