FS: 1975 Fender Precision P Bass, Relic

It kills me to do this, but I gotta pay off some bills, so here we go.

This is a 1975 P bass, ash body + maple fretboard. Tons of mojo. The finish has aged nicely and shows lots of checking and edge wear. A true relic.

I grabbed this bass a while back from Elderly Instruments. It came with a SPB-2 pickup, which I pulled and replaced with a Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickup. The pots were from 1996 and were scratchy, so I replaced them with new CTS 250K pots. It had the typical Fender hum so I completely shielded everything. Now it is 100% dead quiet.

Everything else is original, to the best of my knowledge. It looks like the original owner might have temporarily swapped the Fender bridge with a Badass bridge, then swapped back. The neck is straight and the frets look good.

Strings are Labella flats. This bass is simply an old-school tone machine. Very thumpy, very punchy, and very 70's.

Total weight is 9.8 pounds.

Comes with aftermarket hard shell case.

Price is $1295 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states.

If this were to accidentally fall into a tweed gig bag with the name Dave Lee on it,I'm sure he could live with the loss of it's previous inhabitant! LOL!! That is exactly like one I played in the mid to late 70's. Good luck with the sale Dan!
