FS 1981 Fender Precision Special CAR OHSC

I bought a couple of these a few months ago, and I don't need both. So I'm offering one up for the Princely sum of $1000. She is a fine, naturally reliced example of Fenders 1st attempt at an Active bass. This was to do battle with the Ernie Ball offerings. And when you hear the Tone, you'll see that they meant business! It does have a Passive switch as well, and has a Real "Woodsy" sound in that mode. This bass tips the scales at a little over 10.5 Lbs, and has all the original hardware. Here's the pics...

Not really looking for any trades on this one, but if you have something that you think I couldn't resist, run it by me. FYI, it will have to be REALLY Amazing.

Killer bass! I've owned plenty of P's--a '73, a '76 a '78, '02, '62 reissue, and a couple Japanese and korean mades.

My 10.4 lb. '81 P CAR special is currently the only bass I own.

Yeah, it's a KILLER Bass! I'm having my other CAR Special refinished, and I thought this Naturally reliced beauty would be appreciated by another player.

Quite a bit of interest in this one actually. I should mention that the case might be tricky to ship internationally, and shipping would be Considerably less if the bass was shipped with the neck removed. (Less likely to be damaged also!)

Sorry mate, can't do anything until I'm back in Australia. Living abroad at the moment, but I'll be back on the 15th. If it still hasn't sold by then, I'll PM you, see what we can work out

I should also mention I'm currently looking at a few basses here on TB at the moment, so it may be a no go if I decide to go another way.

I put some Flats on this last night, cut the Treble to +1, add Bass to +3, and this baby came to LIFE! (Maple Boards always throw me...)

I'm Keeping this one, and might put the Refinished one up after I get it back. Probably for a Little more than this one though...
