FS: 1982 Fender JV '62 P Candy Apple Red (7lbs 8 ozs!) w/HSC $725 sh TONS of PICs

That's right, this one is pretty light- 7lbs, 8ozs, and balanced nicely. Been around the block a few times...It's an original candy apple red 1982 (neck penciled 10-1-82), made in Japan very early on when Fender shifted manufacturing to the Tokai plant ( I believe..) and retooled here in the states.

There is a great site dedicated to these Fender Squier JVs- (The JV Chronicles-21frets.com - guitar information and forum about JV - Japanese Vintage fender squier stratocaster guitars, squier telecaster and basses). Check it out- lots of great info.

This bass is a player- no closet queen here. She has her share of bumps, dings, holes, scratches, paint missing- but she plays so freakingly nice, you don't think about how it looks when you're playing!!

What I know is original- Body(early router hump), Neck, tuners, frets (vintage, small), string tree/3x strap buttons, pots and jack, serial numbered neck plate. What I've replaced- Pickguard (have original 1 ply black), knobs (replaced with JV knobs), bridge (replaced badass with threaded saddle vintage style), pickups (had barts, dropped in '62 ri's)-

I've tried to put this bass as close back to original as possible. But honestly, it's a player- with the flattest 1 5/8' neck you've ever played. I think they refer to these necks as "pancake" necks. If you like p bass width, but don't like the fat chunky "baseball bat" necks, then this bass is definitely for you.

It has a sweet, resonant tone that I can't get from any of my other P basses (original 74 p bass even)- currently strung with Chromes, action is set low and neck is dead straight. Plenty of room left on the truss rod, nut is almost flush with the heel of the neck still.
The neck has a good sized "doink" at the edge of the fretboard at the second fret. Your thumb fits nicely in there when playing- hasn't ever bothered me, but I thought i'd point it out. See the pic-
I've tried to convince myself not to put this one up for sale, but, well, things happen and I'm in need of cash. Not looking for any trades right now. $725 shipped east of the Mississippi, $750 west. Sorry, but ups hits you hard when you go east to west coast! I have a HSC case for it, nothing to write home about- old, has "rickenbacker" painted on the outside. Blue fur.
Anyone local, I'm glad to have you stop in and try her out.
Tons of pics----have a look.
thanks all- pm with any questions-

unfortunately- I have no cash either..that's why it's up...

it hasn't worn the flats for very long, so i haven't had much time to play it with them, but i did last night- let me just say, there will be BIG regrets when this guitar leaves...

Will you ship it to Norway for 750$? Taking the neck of the body and shipping it in two seperate packages? Let me know what you think...

Thanks!! It is an amazing instrument, and it will pain me to see it go. Looks like there is a deal in the works, and it might be headed off to Norway- just waiting for payment to arrive-
