This is a 1982 Fender P-Bass, '57 re-issue made in the Fullerton factory. As you can see by the date and very low serial #, it was one of the first of these re-issue basses made.
It is very light and resonant, the weight is between 8-8.5 lbs.
When I acquired the bass, it had EMG pickups in it, so I replaced the pickup with a Lindy Fralin pickup for the vintage look and tone, as well as installed CTS pots. It also has Dunlop straplocks installed.
As you can see, there are some dings as well as finish checking, but it's what you would expect for a bass of this age with an authentic nitro finish. The frets are in great shape.
This bass really nails that warm, growly P-bass tone! I'm just more of a J-bass guy so I really only play this bass at home.
This is for sale only! No trades.
Price: $1500 USD + shipping.

..you make that maple board sound nice and warm,smooth..
I'd buy this bass for that soundclip alone.
are those flats or rounds on those clips?
what type of strings are on her now?

-Exact weight is 8.42 lbs
-Nut width is 1 3/4"
-Strings on it are DR Hi-Beams... for most of the clips I had the tone knob rolled back close to 0.
The finish is checked... here are some pics to try to show it.

That's all fine and dandy, but it's a pity it's missing the original pickups and pots, because this fine bass would be worth more than your original asking price.
I want it so badly I could cry................

..if she wasn't 1 3/4'..I'd have purchased this last week.

Wish I could relieve you of it, but just blew it all on a pre-CBS Jazz. Bump for a sweet bass and a great player. |
