FS: 1982 Ken Smith bass #096 4 String Neck Through, Vinny Fodera Era $3400 OBO!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
This Ken Smith was originally Ken's personal bass. I asked him about it and he said he has record of doing over 40 recordings with this between 83 and 84. For being 28 years old it's in excellent condition. No big dings or scratches. This bass was built when Vinny Fodera was doing all the wood work and Ken was installing the pickups and electronics and doing the final setup. $3,200 shipped.

34" inch scale
Smith Humbucking pickups
Taps for both pickups.
Controls: Volume, Pan, Bass/Treble stacked.
Neck: Maple with Walnut Stringers
Body: Maple/Walnut
Chrome Hardware
Smith Original Hard Shell Case

Under the control cavity is listed everything that was was ever changed or worked on by Ken. You can check this out in the pics. Also included is the original complete Hazlab pre-amp. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to let me know through a pm. I will update with any information I may have left off. Link to pics below.

stunning piece of bass history. Makes you get to wonder what was invented the last 28 years, 5-6 string basses maybe?

If I remember correctly, Ken had already started doing 5 and 6 string basses by '82. I may be wrong...Bump!

According to his website, he started doing a Wide 6 in 1981.

Bump for one VERY cool bass. If I had the extra dough, I would definitely snatch up this piece of bass history.

Played this bass today. Killer! Really punchy and not super modern sounding like some Smiths can be. If I only had the bread...

'72 corvette in good condition would be just fine. Just make sure the title is clean, or nicely forged.

Still available.
