Economics force yet another of my treasures to be offered up for sale. This is a very vintage
1982 Yamaha BB-2000.
These basses need no introduction to most of you. They represented the gold standard in a four string low end tool in the late 70's and early 80's. Good enough for
Lee Sklar (James Taylor),
George Hawkins Jr (Kenny Loggins) and
Michael Anthony (VanHalen) and countless other great players ever since they were first introduced in the US.
This one has lots of scars from being played but the neck is absolutely perfect and I just had the frets milled and crowned along with a full set-up ($200.00 job) so it's playability is phenomenal. The passive electronics still sound strong and rich with lots of "growl" from the reverse split P style neck pickup and plenty of articulate "burp" from the saber style J in the bridge position. It will come with an original Yamaha form fitted vintage style hard shell case that's in excellent condition.
One of these (in a bit better cosmetic condition) just sold for over $1K on Ebay so they are still in pretty high demand. If you have never played or owned one you really should consider giving this one a try. You absolutely won't be disappointed.
$775.00 OBO shipped and insured in the CONUS. Trades plus cash will gladly be considered!.
