For sale I have a transition era fender jazz. Included are all the original parts in working condition( only
Missing the screws to put on the bridge ashtray)
Pots and headstock date to 1978, neck pocket is stamped 1983, and it has a three bolt neck which was mostly done away with by 1981.
Truly a transition era instrument.
Specs:
Ash body in a poly finished sunburst
Maple bound and dotted neck
Cream pickup covers and strat style knobs
Currently has emgs installed which will be included along with the original pickups, pots and bridge ashtray
Also currently has a new vintage style fender bridge installed(done professionally when setup this week with a new set of Dunlop nickels). This was dine because the previous owner put locktight on the original bridge saddled to hold it in place. It played and sounded fine like that, but I prefer a lower, faster setup, so I opted for a new bridge. The original will of course be Included.
Weighs around 11 lbs(bathroom scale said 10.5)
Not light, but it is a beast in the tone department!
The finish, and the rest of the aesthetics of the bass are in great condition for the age. Minimal belt buckle rash, occasional dings but nothing substantial. It has mojo but was never abused.
It plays great But there is definite wear associated with a bass this old. The frets show some wear, especially in the 12- 16th fret range. Just trying to provide gull disclosure, the bass as stated plays and sounds great, but to be considered tip top, some fretwork should probably be done.
Asking 1750 shipped in the original hardshell case
