Questions.

What is the nut width on these? Any interest in trades?

Nut Width

Erik,

The nut width measures at 1 and 5/8" inches. Thanks for the interest, but I'm not really looking for trades at the moment.

Peace and Blessings...

Wow - just wow! I have a few questions:

1) What's it's weight?
2) How does it differ tonally from an L2000? Since the pickups are somewhat different, are the controls also different?
3) What's the neck profile like?
4) Is that a true, measured 1 5/8" nut width? G&Ls usually have a 1 3/4" nut...

[quote=Personatech;8965605]Wow - just wow! I have a few questions:

1) What's it's weight? It weighs 10.6 lbs

2) How does it differ tonally from an L2000? Since the pickups are somewhat different, are the controls also different? I really can't offer a valid tonal comparison to the L2000, since I've never owned one. Perhaps others on the forum can assist here.

3) What's the neck profile like? The neck profile is definitely different than a traditional jazz bass. It's actually quite similar to my Musicman Sabre and to my G&L L1000. I am uncertain of the actual neck radius. Again, perhaps others can offer more technically descriptive feedback.

4) Is that a true, measured 1 5/8" nut width? G&Ls usually have a 1 3/4" nut...] Yes. It's a measured 1 5/8" nut width.

Thanks for your interest and comments.

The 1 5/8" or 1 11/16" were the standard nut width for earlier Fender-era G&Ls- at least all of them that I have owned or considered owning. They can be some of the most comfortable profiles I've ever played (though there are a lot of baseball bat necked ones out there too)! It's a shame that they got rid of that profile on newer G&Ls...the most comfortable newer G&Ls I've played have been 1 1/2" nut widths with a bit chunkier profile- I can't seem to really connect as well with the 1 3/4" ones I've tried (and I've tried a bunch).

Anyway- killer bass! I've always wanted to try one of these, but it's not in the cards this time around...
