FS: 1985 Ken Smith BT

Selling my 1985 Ken Smith BT serial #231. Beautiful playing and sounding bass and very rare to find on the market (especially in a PJ config) - see details below. I recently got this from TB'er Dave88 and it is one of the best basses I have played, but I had a chance to pickup a rare Alembic (which I did) so need to move this to get out of the doghouse with my wife.

- I believe top and back woods are walnut with a maple core

- Ebony board with snowflake inlays

- Dovetail neck joint

- Per Ken Smith #200 and up were made in Pa., not NY. This is from the first batch or two they did in Pa. The top all across with the diamond inlays were standard for these.

- All original except pickups (currently has Lakland custom P/U's, will also ship with the orignal Dimarzios if you want to restore to 100% original, they Laklands sound great also)

- Signed on back of headstock by Bill Dickens (could probably be removed if you choose, I never tried as it was there when I bought it)

- Overall clean condition for 25 years old - no major nicks or dings, just some light play wear on the top (it has a very light satin finish)

- Knobs are Vol/PU Blend/Active Bass/Active Treble and switch is active/passive select

- Will ship in non original HSC

Looking to get less than I paid - $2,250 shipped via PayPal.

Thanks - Adam

Had a few PM's about trades - probably interested in straight sale only, but would maybe consider a high end fuzz/overdrive as partial trade.

glad to see it going to another TB'er.

The pick-up set is a custom set put together by Carl, and has the best output p to j while still sounding "right" ever imho.... so who got it?
