Post FS: 1988 Peavey Dyna-Bass USA Super Ferrite Near Mint

Sign in to disble this ad
I tried this out in a local shop last week and was swept off my feet. It plays and sounds really great. There's an original sales tag from 1988. It looks like the former owner never played it once. What very little wear there is comes from me over a few gigs & rehearsals.

As much as I'm enjoying this axe, my stable is just too crowded. (Plus, it's so clean and pristine, I'm almost afraid to take it out. )

This is very similar to the Foundation series. It has the same highly-regarded Super Ferrite pickups but is upgraded with a painted neck, Schaller bridge and 3-band active EQ. The switch bypasses the EQ and the preamp (so you can get a signal even with a dead battery). The larger knobs are master volume & pickup blend.

There are a few subtle bumps or blisters in the paint job near the neck pocket & one EDIT - okay a few - by the bridge pickup. That and a little bit of micro-scratching from a week's worth of playing are the only flaws I can discern.

Asking price is $300 OBO - shipped CONUS w/ nylon strap & gig bag. I might trade for or toward a 60-100 watt tube head, lightweight 12" cab or a rackmount or outboard preamp. PayPal is welcome.

Thanks for looking!

I mentioned a few possible trade ideas, up in the first post. (Buried up there somewhere in all the blabbing and pictures. )

I'm a flexible guy - what 'chu got?

What're the active controls? Bass, treble and mid?

What other basses would be a good reference as far as the sound goes?

EDIT: can you provide some pics of the flaws in the finish?

Agreed. Wicked cool bass. I still miss my red five-string, circa 1990.
