I have for sale a 1989 EBMM Stingray bass. I purchased this bass used in January 1994 and used it as my primary bass until around 2000. At this point, I started using my passive Fenders more and the Stingray has pretty much stayed in its case since that time. I hate to see a great bass just sitting in its case, but I've finally worked up the nerve to sell her and move on to other things.
I don't know the name of the blue color of this bass. I've only seen one other Stingray in this color from the same time period. I inquired on the EBMM forums about the color and they said the color was listed as "SPECIAL". Also, the neck is completely finished (standard for this era) and this bass weighs 9.6 pounds according to my bathroom digital scale.
The Stingray is in excellent shape overall but it is not in mint condition. This is to be expected considering it's a 22 year old bass that was actually used. With that said, there are no issues with the bass. I'll let the pictures do the talking but I'll describe the cosmetic flaws as detailed as I can. There are some scratches on the body and pickguard, mild belt buckle rash on the back of the body, a few mild dings on the body and headstock. The worst ding is right underneath the bridge where the previous owner took a chunk of paint out down to the bare wood. Also, some of the metal could use polishing. Most of these imperfections wouldn't pick up with my camera. I'm sure I made this sound worse than it is but I want you to feel comfortable with what you may potentially purchase from me.
To the best of my knowledge everything is original on this bass, except the strap buttons. When I purchased the bass it had an odd set of strap buttons installed by the previous owner, so I swapped them out. I have traditionally used Schaller Straplocks during this time, so I outfitted it with those. Finally, this bass comes with a 10 year old EBMM HSC in great shape.
I know I have "0" feedback here at TB but I have completed several flawless transactions on TB and I have 100% feedback on eBay under the username "Bass-316".
