FS: 1991 G&L SB1

Sign in to disble this ad
Folks,

This is a '91 SB1 in incredible condition, a few tiny scuffs here & there, but nothing that will photograph other than a mark across the top back of the headstock. The neck & body date July & June 1991, respectively. Pre-lawsuit headstock, "By Leo Fender". It's natural finish w/rosewood board. Black crinkle hardware & pickguard, with original (or period) tolex case. Still has warranty card with it (with wrong date)! Weighs about 10 pounds, nut is 1 11/16". Serial number is B021287.
Plays beautifully, fast action, great frets, trussrod functions freely, sounds absolutely killer! (Kitty not included)

$700 shipped CONUS

Ah... the legendary 1 11/16" G&L neck! I wish they would make these again.

Great seller too!

This is a Leo SB-1 definately earlier and more valuable than a 93. Look at the HS and case and metal PG. Very nice bass and these have great tone.

I can attest these are very nice basses. I have one a bit older than yours with the maple board and with the gunmetal blue finish. Wonderful to play and sounds great. Like my 78 P but hotter and more present. I'm using Thomastic flats. Great either with a pick or fingers. That pickup is something else.

Mine is about 9 lbs.

Good luck with your sale. Someone is going to get themselves a very nice instrument.

Thanks guys! I'm surprised she's still here too, this is a beauty of an SB1. One of Leo's last "inspirations"...

Man I wish I could take this off your hands now...if it doesn't sell within the next few weeks, I may be able to find a way to scrounge up some funds though!

I bought 2 basses off Gary. He is a great seller, always very accurate in his descriptions.

Whoever buys this will be happy!

Weekend price drop bump, $700 shipped in the upper 48. I'm going on vacation in a couple weeks, and would really love to see this go to a new home before I go.
Anyone? This is a crazy price for this era SB1!!!

So tempting...

I really want a G&L but I think my heart is set on an L-1000..they are just so rare these days though.
