Im selling the bass I SWORE Id never sell but times are REALLY hard for me so here we go...
1993 Fender Precision Bass Plus MIA. Not just your average P Plus..this one has a bit of a story. Its pretty rare as these options were never supposed to be on this bass..its well known that when Fender is at the end of a run and have parts they just kinda throw s*** together and hope it sticks, well they only did a handful of these and they came out to be masterpieces.
The odd ball things: The Plus series had a series/parallel switch between the 2 knobs, this does not. Also the neck headstock code implies a RW board and this is Maple plus they didn't do the Natural and Maple combo except for this tiny run. The only ones I have ever seen in YEARS of research are this one, another guy on a forum and the bassist for the band glassjaw. Soooo odd combo of body and neck, the S/P button delete (only done on this color combo)
Now what makes it amazing, 22 fret neck ( jazz profile ), perfectly balanced, the wood grain of the ash is the most superb Ive EVER seen on a natural Fender!
The Schaler heavy duty tuners mixed with the fine tune bridge hold PERFECT intonation under any kind of abuse you can dish out! 3 way toggle switch allows you to seamlessly switch between a true P pickup, a P/J blend and a solid J bridge only. I loaded it up with a passive Bartolini P/J deep/smooth set I will also throw in the original Lace Sensor pickups as it's a rare bird you should always have the OEM stuff. Its a sonic WEAPON and everyone who plays it falls in love. This one doesnt go any further past the first one to play it ..PROMISE!
Downside, it needs a bit of a setup..winter sprouts and the P pickup needs wired (it cuts out when touched sometimes) with that it puts the P in Perfect. Like I said I was hoarding this as my own treasure I swore I??d never sell but things like food, rent and car notes dont give a damn how your gear sounds and all my bass stuff has to go before Id get rid of my guitar.
