FS : 1993 Flamed Maple Pedulla Thunderbass with SKB hard shell Case

I know this has been said before , but I never thought I'd be selling this bass! I bought this bass used in like-new condition back in 1995 and it has been my main bass since then. The only reason that I am selling this bass is because I had to buy a 5 string bass because my new band is playing a lot of newer rock songs that require a low 'B' string. I bought a Musicman Bongo 5 HH and unfortunately I am not in a position financially to keep both of them.
This bass is not made of any rare or exotic woods , but it is definitely (hand) made with some beautiful wood (as are all Pedulla basses). This bass plays like a dream and has great tone. It has a very fast neck with nice low action. The bass is all original and is still equipped with the original Bartolini Pick-ups and electronics.
The bass has a few shallow / small dings on the body and head-stock as can be expected of a 20 year old bass , but besides that it is in great condition and has no major flaws whatsoever. The nicks are pictured below in the photos of the bass. I have treated this bass with kid gloves the entire time it has been in my possession.
I replaced the worn-out Pedulla case with a new hard shell SKB case a little over a year ago. I couldn't find a case that matched the body , but I bought some stuffed monkey tails for a kids Halloween costume that fit around the bass and hold it securely in the case without allowing it to move around in the case.

The bass comes with two sets of Pedulla strap pegs (Black and gold) if you want to keep it all original and the tool kit and booklet for making adjustments to the bass..

The bass also comes with $228.00 worth of accessories:
1. SKB Hard Shell Case (Mentioned above) = $142.00
2. A black padded leather Levi strap = $45.00
3. Black Schaller strap locks = $16.00
4. 21' Monster cable (with life-time warranty) specially designed for bass guitar = $25.00

Asking ~~$1600.00~~ $1450.00 plus half of shipping CONUS.

Possible Trade update
Due to recent amplifier problems I don't think it would be a bad idea to have a back-up amp so I may take trade offers (plus cash) for an amplifier in like-new condition.
The amps that I mainly would be interested in are mainly GK (MB Fusion , MB800 , 1001RB-II and the 700RB-II.). Other amps that I may consider in trade would be the the Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 , Markbass LMII or III , Markbass F1 or F500 , GB Shuttle 9.0 , GB SM 9.2 , and the GB Streamliner 600 / 900.

PM me any offers and maybe we can work something out. That said - I do need to re-coop most of the funds from my 5 string purchase so the trade value of any amps offered in trade are going to be based on the 'going rate' here on TB.

I'm not sure of the scale or string spacing , but I'm sure it's standard Pedulla scale and spacing. The spacing can be adjusted slightly with the bridge.

As you can tell - I don't know much about 'scale' and 'spacing' , but if you tell me how to measure them I'll do my best to get you an accurate measurement. I absolutely love this bass and honestly don't want to sell it , but my wife is a stay at home mom raising our two young daughters (4 yrs and 8 yrs) and times are very tough financially. I really needed a 5 string for a lot of the new songs my band is playing so the Pedulla isn't going to get the love that it used to get when I just played classic rock (in my old band). I learned at my gig this past Saturday that the Bongo will be able to handle all my needs.

BTW - Thanks for the compliment! The bass truly does sound great and plays like a dream. I just wish that I could afford to keep it. I'm still trying to pay off my hospital bill from my back surgery last summer. Our high deductible insurance at work still left me with several thousand out-of-pocket left to pay off. I know that times are tough for most people right now. Fact of the matter is that I simply can't afford to keep both of them as much as I wish I could.

Micheal Pedulla has been making basses by hand for over 30 years and is one of the finest Luthiers in the bussiness.

What is the control setup on these?

As a fellow thunderbass owner let me just say these basses are superb. The feel is incredible. Especially the necks. Total quality from one of the finest luthiers in the business. That bass may not be made from "exotic" woods but that flamed maple sure is tasty.

Thanks for the compliments scubaduba! The flamed maple is very eye catching and I have had many compliments on the looks (and tone) of this bass over the years.

The bass only has active electronics with Bartolini pick-ups (all original).

As far as the three knobs - I never had a schematics on them , but they are fairly simple controls. They are : Volume , Pick-up pan , and tone (treble). This bass doesn't need a lot of knobs to get a great tone out of it and it has plenty of punch as you can hear in the video clips that I posted. It really cuts through the mix nicely.

If anyone has the schematics of the early three knob Thunderbass controls - please feel free comment on them.

I would never have put this bass up for sale if I didn't make the (long over-due) switch to 5 strings.

Funny thing is - I've been playing for almost 30 years and I know nothing about measuring string spacing , scale , nut width , ect... Either I like how a bass plays or I don't. I've always loved how this Pedulla plays and sounds - that's why it has been my main bass since 1985 and still would be if I didn't recently make the switch to 5 strings (and could afford to keep both basses).

I'll make two measurements and hopefully I'll get you the right answer.
Total width of nut = about 1 5/8"
Center of the 'E' string to the center of the 'G' string at the nut = 1 1/4"

Thanks for confirming the nut width at 1 5/8". The newer Pedullas are 1 1/2", like a jazz, which I need due to small hands. Otherwise I would have bought today. No worries though... It is a beautiful bass and well priced... I'm sure it will go fast!

I'm a small guy (5'7") with small hands and I have no issues playing this bass. Just sayin'.
