I'm going to entertain the idea of selling my CT. It is a 1994 bolt on 5 string. The body I believe is walnut with a maple top. It is incredibly thin and only weighs 7-8 lbs on my bathroom scale. It is a 24 fret 36" scale. It has a very nice wooden bridge. The saddles are adjustable front to back but cannot be raised or lowered. The action is right about where I usually have it on any other bass. I currently have it strung with Ken Smith strings, 40-120. The Smith super long scale strings are the only strings I have found that are long enough for this bass. I will say this about the 36" scale, the string tension is very even and makes the bass a breeze for finger picking.
I am not sure if the electronics were original when I got it. The person I bought it from told me it was Carl's shop bass for a while. When I purchased it, it was a single neck pickup EMG 40J with the EMG EXB tone control. I found it was one dimensional and did not give me much tonal variety. I later had a second EMG 40J installed. I wanted to have it done at Carl's shop, but the wait was too much for me, so I had another luthier do the woodwork. He did a fantastic job and it looks perfect and sounds much much better. It has Dunlop straplocks as well.
The bass has some play wear on it, mostly some small nicks or light scratches here and there, but nothing major. Comes with a Carl Thompson original gig bag.
I've seen some semi frills selling for around $4000, so I'd throw out $4500 CONUS for it.
I'm not really interested in much for trades, except perhaps a Kubicki Ex Factor or an EBS 350 head, or EBS Drone or Gorm combos
Here's a link to some pics. Sorry about the darkness but it's rather gloomy here this week
