FS 1994 Warwick Fortress One 5, Wenge Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
I have up for sale a 1994 Warwick Fortress 1. Made in Germany with the old ultra desirable wenge neck/wenge board. Two piece maple body stained amber. It has the recessed strap locks. The bass has EMG JL pickups and an EMG BTS System preamp. I will include the original MEC pickups and MEC preamp in the sale. It's 34" scale. It weighs approximately 10 lbs, but actually feels lighter because of the excellent balance provided by the long upper horn. (And I am very sensitive to bass weight, and this one has given me NO problems)
It's in good condition but has definitely been played. The bass will ship in a very nice Warwick Rock Case.

Sale or trade. Willing to listen to trade offers for basses (prefer 5 string), amp heads, amp cabs, combos.

$699 plus shipping

No jelly, no powdered sugar, but it's possible it may have had some custard wiped off it once or twice.

Besides the above mentioned trades, I may consider a 6 string guitar. Telecaster anyone?

Nice looking bass. I've watched it on the 'bay, yes?

How would you describe the difference in sound when you went from MEC to EMG?

I'd say it's a little more clear or "high fi", but it still retains the classic Warwick "growl". (God I hate that word!, but if fits)
