This is a very nice Yamaha BB-300 built at Yamaha's factory in Taiwan in 1994. It's in excellent condition with just some surface scratches on the back that could probably be buffed out. There are no dings or dents and the neck and headstock are perfect.
These basses are an excellent alternative to MIM Fender P basses. Their sound, looks and build quality are much better and their price on the used market is quite reasonable.
This one is finished in piano black poly with a maple neck and rosewood board. The back of the neck is very nicely figured for such an inexpensive bass. It weighs in at 9.5 lbs and it's nut measures 1 5/8".
Playability is great with no fret wear or truss-rod issues. It delivers that classic Yamaha, reverse-P pickup, "meat and potatoes" tone with great punch and clarity. All in all, a tremendous value at a very reasonable price!
$230.00 OBO shipped and insured in the continental US. The bass will ship in a "like new" Fender Squire molded hard shell case to give it maximum protection while in transit.
A most excellent bass that I played through most of the most excellent 80's. Modern P bass tone, full but with added bite if you want it. Simple and well built. Dude, BUMP!
Great bass for a great price! Bump to you, mister. Also a bump 'cause I borrowed the pic of the back of the headstock for a thread I made. Thanks for that
Will somebody PLEASE buy this thing so I can quit torturing myself with it? My main bass is a candy apple red BB300, J-bass pickup added and refretted twice since I bought it new in 1986. I ADORE these basses.
