1996 Fender “Black Label” P Bass
Due to health and physical issues, I’m having to switch to short scales, this is my last long scale bass, and it’s my hardest one to let go... but it’s doing nothing other than sitting in it’s case, so here goes...
According to a couple spots on the web, the “black label” was used by Fender Mexico for a limited time only between 1993 and 1998. The instruments with the black label consisted mostly of overstock american made Fender necks and bodies. The parts were shipped to Mexico for assembly with mexican made pickups and far eastern hardware and electronics. Most instruments with the black label featured tuners and bridges of decent quality as well as 3-ply pickguards. These instruments covered the Fender Telecaster, Stratocaster or Precision Bass with a black label and a serial number beginning with MN3, MN4, MN5, MN6, MN7 or MN8.
With that in mind, I had all the electronics replaced to make it an “American” bass so to speak.
Weight is right around 8.25 lbs
Original Fender ‘62 Pickup
Wiring harness from Hoagland Brothers in Pickerington OH featuring a full-sized CTS brand 250k audio taper pot - for volume, a full-sized CTS brand 250k linear taper pot - for tone, a .047mfd value Sprague "Orange Drop" capacitor, vintage-style cloth-covered wire and a Switchcraft high quality input jack.
Schaller Straplocks - Strap end included.
Bridge and Pickup covers
G&G Tweed Case.
It's had a recent fret level and crown, and it’s strung with a ‘fairly’ fresh set of low-riders.
It’s setup with a nice low action and it plays and sounds great. I just can’t play the 34” scale any longer. The body has a bit of ‘mojo’ so I’ll include pics of it, the finish has been touched up and the biggest portion is covered by the strap. It's a players bass, not a new pristine showroom one...
The finish dings can be seen in this album. http://s317.photobucket.com/albums/m...60/Fender%20P/
Here’s the most of it.
Price - $450 shipped negotiable.. Might take some partial trades, but mostly looking to sell. Trade bait would be a lightweight short scale fretless, or even some high quality jazz parts so I could upgrade my SX short scale J bass I just got.

so....
Bump

Got any good pedals, or maybe the tascam MP3 bass trainer you want to throw toward a trade?

$375.00 to take it all off my hands.
