FS: 1998 Warwick Fretless Thumb, Wenge Neck

Sign in to disble this ad
Greetings. I am offering this super super nice Warwick Thumb 4-string Fretless for sale. CURRENTLY LISTED ON EBAY AUCTION -- ENDS LATER TODAY -- CURRENT BID IS $695. with Warwick Rockbag soft shell case.

This is a 1998 bolt-on model which features the thinner profile WENGE neck that many Wick-purists covet. They stopped using this wood on the neck around this time due to its short supply. This is a great example of Warwick's Sound Of Wood.

The 9v active 2-band EQ electronics work perfectly. The volume know has a push/pull feature to bypass the active EQ section, as desired. Cool looking recessed dunlop strap locks are factory installed on the bass -- included is the locks for your strap.

The body is in fantastic shape and I've polished her many times to pull the wood grain and lustre. The solid black ebony fingerboard is wiped down with the finest lemon oil. Only blemish is a small 1/8" nick on the edge of the neck at the G# position on the e-string. Does not affect playability, not very noticeable, photo provided.

Are you sure that isn't the ovangkol neck? The color and grain is different from any wenge Warwick necks I've ever seen.

Well, I guess the ones I've encountered have just been darker.
