SOLD!
This is a near-mint, year 2000 black 5 string Stingray with white perloid pickguard, white pickup cover, maple neck and rosewood fretboard. Currently strung with D'addario Chrome flatwounds and sounds very fat! This bass has been my main axe for the past 6 years (most of which I have not gigged.)
I really love this bass--I bought it new in February 2001; This was the best sounding and playing Musicman I could find on an all day solo outing to Atlanta specifically for an SR5. I picked this bass after playing more than a dozen others, new and used. The hang-tag and blank warranty card will be included along with the the original hardshell SKB-type case. I've owned a few other MusicMan basses in the past and liked this one best.
I see one minor nick in the headstock that I missed before (shown in the headstock closeup picture.) No scratches anywhere to be found on the entire bass. I do see some very very minor pitting/discoloring beginning to form on the poles of the pickup (from fingers), but I have not tried to clean it off. (Didn't notice it till now.) Also see a little player dirt on the fretboard that I know will clean up. The back of the neck has darkened as many of these tend to do over time (also shown in photos.) Fretwork is excellent. Action is setup medium-low. I've recently seen SR5's brand new in stores that aren't in near as good of shape as this one is.
I would not be selling this bass, but for this: My old band has reformed and the fluid, funky tone of this bass just doesn't seem quite right for our alt-country sound, and our old songs were on a 4-string, and I don't like playing them on a fiver as much.
Weight approximately 10 lbs. My scale is not more accurate.
For sale only please, (NO trades) as I've already replaced with a 4 string jazz. I've had many excellent bass transactions on ebay and a few on TB before the rating system. Paypal verified. etc.
PM me and give this bass a good second home. thanks!
